Brief Announcement on the TAG Blogs

That's right, TAG blogs, plural.

In 2006, then Guild President Kevin Koch and I started the Animation Guild Blog on blogspot. It was easy, it was straightforward, and we created a lot of content for it until Kevin stepped out of the President's chair and went on with his animation career (which is still going strong, I might add.) ...

I soldiered on, and soldier to this day. There's been a lot of material put up over the years, everything from art work to craft interviews to investment advice to politics. Also lots of news and analysis about the L.A. animation scene and the animation industry in other geographical locations.

In the last couple of months, a second blog pretty much like the first has materialized on the guild's website. (You can find it by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking on "featured posts.")

This second blog is built on word press architecture and I'm still feeling my way through it. The intent is to make this second offering more union centric, but thus far it mirrors content put up here. I would like the two web logs to diverge more, but there are only so many hours in the day so the odds are good that one will be much like the other.

For now.

So why not simply embed this nine-year-old blog with the revamped guild website? Because only Word Press can integrate seamlessly with animationguild.org (because Word Press under-pinnings.) Blogspot, sadly, is like a round peg trying to thrust itself in a square hole. A merger just cannot happen.

How these separate internet locations evolve over the next year or two I know not, but we wanted you to know that they were out there in cyber space. Thanks for reading.
